Immediately after the Dutch government submitted its proposed “Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers” to parliament, the Ministry of the Interior launched a website (Dutch language) to inform the general public about the upcoming changes. On this website a lot of valuable information can be found. On June 11th, shortly after the launch, we informed the Ministry that the information was incomplete. The website focuses on companies with more than 50 employees. However, a large number of companies with less than 50 employees who are active in the financial services sector and/or subject to anti-money laundering laws will also have to comply with the upcoming whistleblowing law. We expect that this concerns thousands of companies.
On the 11th of August, two months later, we received an email from the Ministry of the Interior which confirmed that this information was missing. After we sent another reminder, the website was finally updated in September.
